Coda Electric Car Showroom opens in Century City Mall

CODA, the new all electric vehicle (EV) has opened their "education center" in the Century City Mall in California. This is the flagship location for CODA, with another to follow in Palo Alto. The Coda is a 4 door, 5 passenger sedan with a full trunk. CODA gets up to 150 miles on a single electric charge which costs about $4.00. The showroom is located on the first level on the way to Macy's and the Theatre. The showroom is currently used to educate consumers about the vehicle. Sales start in October and delivery in December. The CODA costs about $37,000 after federal and state incentives. You can even test drive a CODA, which they keep downstairs in the parking lot near Gelson's. Topshop opens in Chicago, rumored to be coming to Los Angeles

Topshop, the British fast, fashion retailer who counts The Duchess of Cambridge as one of their clients, is expanding. Topshop opened last week in Chicago on Michigan Avenue. It is already open in New York and plans to open in The Fashion Show Mall, Las Vegas in March 2012. Per Women's Wear Daily, Topshop is close to signing a lease in Los Angeles, California. Streets of Beverly Hills

Streets of Beverly Hills is now open. This traditional men’s store is the First concept store by Hickey Freeman and Hart Schaffner Marx (a division of HMX, DTC).The creative director is Joseph Aboud. The store carries all their brands including: Hickey Freeman, Hart Schaffner Marx, Bobby Jones, and Coppley. Best of all is that everything is made in the USA at their headquarters in Rochester, New York. There is a price point to suit every mans taste from the Bobby Jones golf shirts, to the Hickey Freeman suits to the Hart Shaffner Marx Made to Measure custom suit program (suits are turned around in 21 days and range in price from $800- $1200). My personal favorites in the store were the beautiful alligator belts with 2 buckles (one in gold and one in silver) for $495.00, and the elegant Coppley slacks. The next location is due to open later this month in Georgetown and will be called the Streets of Georgetown.

Athleta, the hip athletic lifestyle clothing division of The Gap opened August 31 at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. This is the first store in Southern California.
